JOINT POWERS BOARD AGREEMENT SIGNED

September 2, 2009

The Thermopolis Town Council and Hot Springs County Commission have signed a joint powers board agreement, creating the Big Horn Basin Nature & Discovery Center Joint Powers Board. The agreement was created with the help of the two entities and the Wyoming State Attorney General’s office.

It has now gone to the State Attorney General’s office for final approval.

The next step is to put together the lease arrangement with Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Resources for a parcel of land in Hot Springs State Park.

The joint powers board and lease arrangements are needed in order for the state to release funding appropriated by the state legislature earlier this year.
