WHEREAS, the Town of Thermopolis recognizes the arts as a valuable part of the community’s quality of life, and

WHEREAS, it is important to recognize local artists and to provide opportunities for them to showcase their talents, and

WHEREAS, we recognize that art plays a significant role in a vibrant local economy, and

WHEREAS, the Hot Springs Greater Learning Foundation supports arts in Thermopolis and Hot Springs County and during October is planning a series of related events to reach all ages and walks of life, and

WHEREAS, the Town of Thermopolis wishes to recognize and support these efforts and create a better awareness of their impact,

THEREFORE, I, Bill Malloy, Mayor of Thermopolis, Wyoming, do hereby declare and proclaim the month of October 2009 as:

Community Arts Month

in the Town of Thermopolis, Wyoming and encourage all citizens to take advantage of the events planned and develop a greater appreciation for the arts and its positive influence on our lives and our culture.
