Two nationally recognized performers, Igor Begelmen, clarinetist, and Anna Vinnitsky, piano accompanist, will present a concert in Thermopolis, Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m., in Hot Springs High School Auditorium. The concert is free.
Clarinetist Begelmen has appeared as soloist with major orchestras in the United States and abroad. Raised in Kiev, Ukraine, Begelman received his master’s degree from The Juilliard School of Music. He has been praised by critics for his "remarkable display of music making," which has earned him numerous awards and honors.
Pianist Vinnitsky is a distinguished soloist and collaborative artist who has played some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Germany and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. Her versatile repertoire ranges from late Renaissance to contemporary. She is currently staff accompanist at The Mannes College of Music, a teacher at St. Luke’s School in New York City and working on her doctorate at Stony Brook University.
The two will be available for an informal discussion with the audience after the performance.
The concert is underwritten by the Muriel and Dr. Seymour Thickman Family Charitable Foundation, Sheridan, with the Piatigorsky Foundation, Philadelphia. The tour is coordinated by the Wyoming Arts Council, with support from Hot Springs Greater Learning Foundation and Hot Springs County Schools.
The concert is one of only 10 scheduled in Wyoming. This year’s tour is coordinated by the Wyoming Arts Council in conjunction with the Piatigorsky Foundation. It is the fourth year the Thickman Family Foundation has sponsored the tour. The Piatigorsky Foundation is a national arts services organization, whose mission is to bring live classical music to individuals who do not have the geographical access or financial means to attend concerts.
