Big Horn Basin Hot Springs State Park Project Folklife & Foodways Wildlife Arts and Crafts Music

Calling All Artists

Do you make baskets? Forge iron? Spin? Make rope? Paint? Quilt? Write poetry? Play a musical instrument?

If you live or work in or near the Big Horn Basin and are an artist, crafts person or have a special skill, HSGLF is looking for you.

Hot Springs Greater Learning Foundation will be gathering information on artisans and artists throughout the Big Horn Basin and the region this summer.

The project is being partially funded by the Wyoming Arts Council to identify people who create art or quality folk crafts to sell or for their own use -- pottery, textiles, metal or forge work, baskets, found art, painting, music instruments, as well as musicians, performers and writers.

It will include identifying those who may have left a legacy of artifacts, art, craft or other valuable records.

Data from the study will be used to help develop exhibits, activities and programs for possible use in the Hot Springs State Park Interpretive Center.
